HP LaserJet Pro MFP - Set the paper size and type for copying on special paper

Learn how to set the paper size and type for copying on special paper.

NOTE:

The steps vary according to the type of control panel.

TOUCHSCREEN WITH BLACK BACKGROUND

Find your printer control-panel type in the options below and then follow the steps to set the paper size and type for copying on special paper.

Follow these steps for LaserJet Pro MFP models that have a touchscreen control panel with a white background.

  1. Place the document face-down on the scanner glass, or place it face-up in the document feeder and adjust the paper guides to fit the size of the document.

  2. From the Home screen on the printer control panel, touch the Copy icon.

  3. Touch the Document icon.

  4. On the Copy Document screen, touch the Settings icon  in the lower left corner.

  5. On the Copy Settings screen, scroll to and touch Original Size, and then touch the paper size option that corresponds with the size of the original document that you are copying.

  6. On the Copy Settings screen, scroll to and touch Tray Selection, and then touch the name of the tray that holds the paper that you want to use for your copies.

  7. Touch the Back button  to return to the Copy Document screen.

  8. To adjust the number of copies, touch the box to the left of the Copy button and then enter the number of copies using the touch keypad. Touch the Done icon  to close the keypad.

  9. Touch Copy to begin copying.

Follow these steps for LaserJet Pro MFP models that have a touchscreen control panel with a black background.

TOUCHSCREEN WITH BLACK BACKGROUND

  1. Place the document face-down on the scanner glass, or place it face-up in the document feeder and adjust the paper guides to fit the size of the document.

  2. From the Home screen, touch the Copy button.

  3. Touch the Settings button, and then scroll to and touch the Paper button.

  4. From the list of paper sizes, touch the paper size option that corresponds with the size of paper that is in Tray 1.

    NOTE:

    The printer supports the following paper sizes for copying: Letter, Legal, and A4.

  5. From the list of paper types, touch the paper type option that corresponds with the type of paper that is in Tray 1.

  6. Touch the Start Copy button to start copying.
