HP LaserJet Pro MFP - Set default copy settings

Learn how to set the default copy settings using the printer control panel.

You can save any combination of copy settings as default settings to use for every copy job. You can also restore the factory default settings.

NOTE:

The steps vary according to the type of control panel.

Find your printer control-panel type in the options below and then follow the steps to set the default copy settings.

Follow these steps for LaserJet Pro MFP models that have a touchscreen control panel with a white background.

  1. From the Home screen on the printer control panel, touch the Copy icon, and then do the following, depending on control panel:

    • Touch Settings.

    • Touch Document, and then touch the Settings icon .

  2. Change the default copy settings:

    • To set custom default copy settings:

      1. Select the copy settings to meet your preferences.

      2. Scroll to and touch Save Current Settings.

        This saves your selections as the new default settings.

    • To restore factory default copy settings:

      Scroll to and touch Restore Defaults, or Restore Factory Defaults, depending on control panel.

Follow these steps for LaserJet Pro MFP models that have a touchscreen control panel with a black background.

TOUCHSCREEN WITH BLACK BACKGROUND

  1. From the Home screen on the printer control panel, touch the Copy icon, and then touch Settings.

  2. Change the default copy settings:

    • To set custom default copy settings:

      1. Configure the copy settings to meet your preferences, and then scroll to and touch Set as New Defaults.

      2. Touch Yes.

    • To restore factory default copy settings

      1. Scroll to and touch Restore Defaults.

      2. Touch OK.
