HP LaserJet Pro MFP - Copy an identification card

Learn how to copy both sides of an ID card, or other small-sized documents, onto the same side of one sheet of paper.

NOTE:

The steps vary according to the type of control panel.

Find your printer control-panel type in the options below and then follow the steps to copy an identification card.

Follow these steps for LaserJet Pro MFP models that have a touchscreen control panel with a white background.

In addition to the steps below, you can view the following video of how to copy an ID card (on a printer that has a touchscreen control panel with a white background).

  1. Place the ID card onto the scanner glass, near the icon in the rear left corner, and slightly away from the edges of the scanner glass.

  2. Close the scanner lid.

  3. From the Home screen on the printer control panel, touch the Copy icon.

  4. Touch the ID Card icon.

  5. Select the copy orientation and tray settings, and then touch Copy.

  6. Follow the prompts on the control panel screen to copy the first side of the ID card and then turn the card over to copy the other side.

Follow these steps for LaserJet Pro MFP models that have a touchscreen control panel with a black background.

In addition to the steps below, you can view the following video of how to copy an ID card (on a printer that has a touchscreen control panel with a black background).

  1. Place the ID card (or other small-sized document) on the rear left corner of the scanner glass.

  2. Close the scanner lid.

  3. From the Home screen on the printer control panel, touch the Copy button.

  4. Touch the ID Copy button.

  5. Touch the Start Copy button to start copying.

  6. The printer prompts you to turn over the ID card (or small document) and place it on a different section of the scanner glass.

    TURN ID CARD OVER ON SCANNER GLASS

  7. Touch the OK button if you have additional pages to copy (such as in a small booklet), or touch the Done button if this is the last page.

    The printer copies both sides of the ID card (or all pages of a small booklet) and prints them onto one side of a sheet of paper.
