Learn what to do when you cannot add certain HP printers to a CenturyLink C4000 router using HP Easy Start software.

Issue

Some HP printers are unable to wirelessly connect to the CenturyLink C4000 modem/routers with default settings using HP Easy Start software.

Solution

If launching HP Easy Start fails when trying to connect a printer to a CenturyLink C4000 modem/router, manual configuration might be necessary. Use the following steps to help resolve the connectivity issue.

  1. Launch HP Easy Start software.

  2. If an error screen appears, select the Exit Setup button.

  3. Select the ‘X’ button on the upper-right corner of the HP Easy Start screen to cancel the software installation.

  4. Use one of the following documents to configure the printer to connect to the CenturyLink C4000 router/modem.
